Former President of Abu Dhabi Cricket Council, he was instrumental in the completion of the state-of-the-art Sheikh Zayed International Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. B. R. Shetty’s abiding interest in education has put him in the forefront of the largest community school in the region, Abu Dhabi Indian School of which he is the Honorary Chairman, and he has gone on to establish a number of schools in Abu Dhabi and Dubai which include Deira Private School and Bright Riders School. Dr. B. R. Shetty is also a member of Board of Governors for St. Joseph School, Abu Dhabi.
